I just picked up a brand new 570 Full Size and I am possibly looking at changing out the tire and wheels. Regarding the tires I am curious which models to look at as there are so many out there to choose from! I would be riding mostly on gravel forestry roads, hard pack dirt, some mud and rocks. I understand the Ranger comes with 25" tires now but I would like to get something bigger to fill out the fenders a little better. I will not be lifting it but if I do in the future it would just be a 2" lift. The rims I would go with would be 14" but I want to be cautious not to rob power from the 570 with the bigger rubber too. Any suggestions would be great!!

What would be the biggest tire with a 2" basic lift?

Will these bigger tire kill the power on a 570 FS?

I am looking at the Moto MTC, Ripsaw's and Bighorns on 14" M20's. At least that's what's on the brain as I type this.

I also have a FS 570 and looking at 28 Mongrels with M20 14 inch Black Matte rims. Will I need forward arms or lift to run these?

If you run a 26-27 inch tire, you shouldn't notice much power difference if any at all. For the type of riding you described, I would suggest either the MTC or the Bighorn. The MTC is essentially a Bighorn on steroids with a deeper tread. Both will ride smooth on hard pack and perform well in most applications. But coming from a person running MTC's on two different rangers, they have my vote! Hope this helps..

For the 570, 26" Bighorns would be the ticket. I ran 26" Bighorns for a year or so. They were good but didn't have the weight handling capability that I needed, with the weight of my machine I would go over the factory weight ratings whenever a passenger got in. Putting a load in really overloaded them. The Bighorns did great in pretty much all types of riding I did.

I would at least look at the Roctanes, they are similar to the Bighorn just more durable rubber and an 8ply. I've had four sets of Bighorns and I can honestly say these Roctanes are a far superior tire in every way.

I think you'll get more life out of the MTC because of the harder rubber, but I think the Roctane is a better riding tire. These Rangers are heavy and anything less than an 8 ply tire is going to have some side wall flex. I would go look at both tires in person and the make your decision.
