A week or two ago I spotted a picture on here where someone had wrapped their header and exhaust with some kind of tape. I am assuming it was due to the heat issue. I would like to get in touch with anyone who has wrapped them.

Last year I put a Clamp-On Heat Shield on my Ranger. But after three months of nasty burning smell I removed it. I need to put something back on the header/exhaust pipe. Good suggestions welcome?[:(]

I saw that same post Joe, I think we both asked how he liked it. I think he said he was going to be gone for a while and would report back when he returned and had some time to evaluate the wrap. I always been interested in the wrap not just for heat but I've also heard that it cuts down on noise as well. However, I don't recall very many glowing reports from those using it. Seems like if the stuff is very good at heat/noise reduction a lot more people would be using it... So I'm with Joe, anyone using it, how good is it, pros/cons???

Just be aware that with head wrap it will retain moisture which will greatly promote rust. It does it's job but it has it's down side also.

What Al said, I ruined a set of headers on my Mach 1 back in the day and it only took about 6 months, but you may be OK where you do most of your riding. Any car performance place should have the wrap Joe.
