Hey guys, had them go bad on trucks before (click click click) but never had one go bad on an ATV or UTV.

Here's what happened:

Saturday I misjudged what turned out to be a ROUGH mud hole. I hit with way too much throttle/speed and there was a loud BANG from the front driver side of my Ranger. Thought for sure I snapped an axle. Stopped to inspect and couldn't find anything. Kept riding (gingerly) to see and all seemed normal, steering and awd worked properly but as the day went on a noticeable grinding/clicking noise started to come from front driver side area of the machine. Havent had time to rip it apart yet to check things out but I recall it got louder and more pronounced when I would turn. It eventually got to the point where it became intermittent, so now it comes and goes

Any ideas? Maybe time to get some beefier axles and cv's with a small lift, and recommendations on that?

My front stock finally gave in after 600 miles with the 3" lift and 30" tires...boot tore apart from shards inside, then finally the cv gave in and snapped, I could not get the axle out and had to ride out .... Occasionally it would bind up my turning... I was surprised to get this far with the stock cv's , as everything I have done should be off limits on a ranger... Going to order a set of rhino 's for the front to match the rears. Auto part Metal

My 570 with 35 miles on it developed a chirping sound on the drivers side rear. And it was the sound of something rubbing. My son in law who is a mechanic took a look at it this afternoon and after about 15 mins he found that a small stone had kicked up and lodged its self close to the drive shaft and as the drive shaft rotated the chirping sound was made.

Well I ripped everything apart. The CV joint appears OK, maybe a little tweaked but the wheel bearing is shot. Researched axles until my eyes bled and narrowed it down to Cobra's or Outlaw DHT's. With my riding style I decided to order a DHT axle. If it fails I will go cobra next time.
