Did u leave your key on and start it without turning the key back off? My 900 xp eps does this for battery saving purposes.... I'm sure someone else will chyme in with the details on this, as I don't know the entire rundown of it

If it happens again you can run it at a steady high rpm....say 3200 for a a couple of minutes and if it resets then it is the speed sensor. Its a known issue.
I think it also resets with a certain number of key cycles.
