The 2 12v winch batteries connected in parallel are only charged when the vehicle is running on my Ranger EV LSV. In the recent cold weather and running my auxiliary lights off of them as well; I have found them either quickly run down or not fully charged to start with. (I may end up replacing these batteries) I am contemplating installing a separate charger for these so that they charge when the vehicle is plugged in.

A poster on the other form has installed a Battery Tender charger (the first unit listed). He has hard wired it by splicing it into the Delta Q 110v power input cord and is using it as an auxiliary on board charger for the 2 winch batteries with ring terminals. This sounds like a great idea. I have done some further research and found some other options:

1. Battery Tender 022-0150-DL-WH: 12v, 800mA, Waterproof Charger, $52.50
2. Battery Tender 022-0157-1: 12v, 5A, Waterproof Charger/Maintainer, $125.95
3. Battery Minder 2012 OR 2012-AGM: 12v, 2A, Weatherproof Charger/Maintainer/Desulfator, Temp compensated, $99.95
4. Battery Minder SCC-015: 12v 1.25A, Weatherproof SOLAR Charger/Maintainer/Desulfator, $199.95
(comes with battery condition monitor and 15w solar panel)

I'm leaning toward the maintainer/desulfator units and the solar unit to avoid having to splice the Delta Q wiring. All these units can handle multiple batteries.

Pics in order:
