You might want to post what kind of truck you have, bed size would also help.

I hauled my full size in my short bed truck when it was stock. It was tight but the rockers still cleared the wheel wells. I have hauled a Rhino also. My fullsize, both front tires would crawl over the wheel wells and I had 4" wooden blocks in the front of the bed to stop the tires and keep the bumper from being able to hit the rear windshield. For the tailgate I bought the DG tailgate supports and they would great and take the load off the tailgate cables. I used 7" arched ramps and put bolts through the feet top and bottom to secure them to the ground and to the bed. On the bed where the bolts stuck out of the ramp feet I drilled holes in the bed to fit them. That way the ramps where very secure. I did this because I had one ramp scoot back and fall while loading and trust me, that is not a good thing to happen! In the end, a trailer is better.

I load mine into the bed of my F-250. It fits in the 6.5' bed but the rear tires do sit on the tail gate. I just drive right over the wheel wells in the bed, it rolls over them with no problem. I would prefer a trailer in general, but it is nice to be able to haul in the bed when needed.

I use these ramps, they work great and fold up to store under the machine while in the truck. They are a little pricey, but you can probably shop around for a little better price.

I use these to support the tailgate. I don't trust those cables to hold.

I picked up my Ranger 570 from the dealer and didn't have a trailer. Ranger measurements confirmed it would fit into the bed of my 2004 Chevrolet Silverado with folding aluminum ramps i use for my Honda Rancher ATV. It was only a ten mile drive to get it home. When I was unloading I noticed the left side of the tailgate sagging. Although my truck doesn't have any rust I quickly determined that the tailgate hinges were rusted through, luckily I got it home and unloaded before they broke loose. Replaced the hinges and cables.
