2016 Bobcat 3400 - Seems like all the 2016 Ranger XP 570/900 parts fit it

Just got this machine and fixed it up, had a bad fuel pump and that was all. Just did all the fluids and maintenance, etc...

So far all the parts seem to match up to a Full Size 2016 Ranger XP 570 & XP 900, even the windshelds from the XPs fit perfectly, i have superatv doors on order also.

Before anyone complains, the machine is actually made by Polaris, has both Bobcat serial numbers and a Polaris sticker elsewhere on the frame, and is essentially just a Ranger XP 570 full size that has had a body kit put on the front of it, giving it 4 headlights instead of 2, so far everything else from a ranger swaps over, including the dash pieces.

I curious if anyone else on here has the same machine, i plan to replace the drive belt with a stronger one, but haven't delved into there yet to do it.

EDIT: so with exceptions to cross-compatibility is pretty much as follows, for Gas Powered Bobcat 3400s
For Frame, Suspension, etc components, reference the Polaris Brutus, which uses the same frame and complete suspension, we just installed a Polaris Brutus Lift kit on my 2016 Bobcat 3400 and everything fit like it was designed for the bobcat, period! Also, my Ranger XP 570 full size enclosure doors from Super ATV also fit perfectly, as do the front and rear windshields.

For Engine, Trans, etc, Reference the 2016 Polaris Ranger XP 570 Full Size, i am running the Polaris version Detent and Pawls in my Bobcat transmission and the shifting has never ever worked so well as it does now with the Polaris version of the parts in there, Bobcats were slightly, almost un-seenly, different, shifts just as crisply as my Ranger 1000 XP now.

And with the Gilomen custom tune, the Gas powered bobcat 3400 can do 50-60 MPH, with no other modifications, the top speed of 35 is nothing but bobcat lunacy programmed into the stock bobcat tune, unless your machine is diesel, which really do top out at 35-40 due to RPM Redline on the 3 cyl diesels.

Ive done a bunch of trail riding now with the new A arms, they help so much, and not just with clearance, they actually make the machine handle better steering wise and when cornering at speed. I also put on 27x9x12 tires on the front and 27x11x12 on the rear and the extra side wall height helps so much for ride harshness versus the factory tires.

Upgraded to Super ATV high clearence, forward offset A Arms, the kit for a 2016 Polaris Ranger XP 900 is what you need for the front, they fit perfectly, no mods needed. I also used their bushing kit as well. I opted for the pre-installed chromoly ball joints and it was a snap.

The kit includes a steering block hit to prevent rubbing at full lock, however the factory bobcat wheels and tires do not rub, so you dont need to install the steering locks unless you put on upgraded wheels and tires that are larger or wider or both.

Note that if you damage or just decide to upgrade the rear suspension on a bobcat 3400 your options are not much, because the bobcats use the Polaris Brutus platform, the rear suspension is based on trailing arms instead of A arms, you will have to seek out new arms for a Brutus, not a Ranger, Brutus shares front suspension with the Ranger XP 900 but not rear. The good news is, the Brutus rear suspension is actually stronger than the Rangers in that year range, because Brutus was built for work sites and construction, and has upgraded rear suspension from the factory, barring doing anything really foolish, the rear suspension is pretty tough.

lift kit fit like a glove, the whole suspension is indeed polaris brutus.

I also installed Polaris Ranger Pawl and Detents and the shifting action works so god dang much better, bobcats shifter was always so stiff, now it works just identical to my 2017 Ranger 1000 XP Crew.

If you decide to use wheel spacers you will need to sort out some different lug nuts, Bobcat put different Studs and Lug Nuts on than Polaris uses, they didnt fit the wheel spacers i got, but i found some tuner style lug nuts at autozone that worked out perfect.

Turns out the 2016 ish Bobcat 3400, borrows its rear suspension from the Polaris Brutus for upgraded weight capacity and towing utility uses, so the standard Ranger lift kit and suspension parts do not completely match up, but I found the cross reference through a few hours of research.

For a lift kit, the Polaris Brutus Lift kit is what you need for a 2016 Bobcat 3400

The front brackets from numerous Ranger kits will fit however the rear suspensions uses 2 trailing arm links with a semi solid rear axle setup instead of the usual A Arms, hard to describe but it is there to buck more weight and tow better, so you need this kits rear brackets instead. Its a nearly identical rear suspension setup to the Polaris Ranger Diesel HST Models.

Bingham sent a guy out and they replaced the belt, no trip charge, no belt charge, no labor charge, i am extremely surprised.

Also found some much better bulbs for the Bobcat 3400s, these things are sooo much brighter than the halogen el crapo's bobcat sells, and brighter than all of the cheap 35 watt led bulbs that so far have been too dim to safely ride at night.

Those bulbs right there fit the bobcat pigtails, and the enclosures, no modding needed, and they are about 5-6x brighter than the halogen bobcat bulbs, we did some night riding with 2 of them in my machine, and it was so much easier to see the trails, still wanted more light, but it was managable, and safe, i still had halogens in the outer 2 headlights, which were useless, i just got my second set of bulbs in, and im going to modify the switch so i can have all 4 headlights on together when on trail, right now it only allows for the inner or outer set to be on at a time, not for long.

Confirmed, :LED headlights for a Honda TRX420 fit perfectly, socket right into the enclosure and the electrical connection is a perfect match as well, no modification needed, just in case anyone else ever has the same issue finding bulbs.

In other news, its been bugging me that I still haven't gotten a replacement belt for this machine yet, and i was looking at grabbing an upgraded belt from a Polaris XP 570, but a few forums threads I found said that some of the bobcats fit those perfectly, but one or two sub models do not, and have a slightly different length or something, which brought me back to wishing it had been replaced the first time.

So i called Bingham's corporate offices and explained what happenned, that the staff were friendly, but that two different staff members assured me this machine has zero belts in it, they consulted the manual at corporate and advised me there indeed is a drive belt, they have part numbers for it, and they will be addressing the issue monday with why this shops techs seemed to think the machine had no belts, they also offered to work with me on getting it replaced, and said a member of upper corporate management will be calling me on monday with more details as this all has to be authorized up high i guess....

Will report back what comes of this....

OK, so the SuperATV doors are a perfect fit, for a 2016 bobcat 3400, you just have to order the doors for a 2016 Polaris Ranger XP 570 full size.

The only small caveat is the bobcats seat bolster bars were reshaped slightly to be fancy, and they interfere with the doors, so you either have to remove the bolster bars that come with the bobcat, or if you want to still have bolster bars, score some from a comparable year Ranger XP full size, other then that its bolt on with no customization.

In the summer time i will probably ride a lot without the doors, so i ordered the polaris version of the bolster bars to put back on mine.

In other news, finding LED headlights for this thing has become a challenge, so far none of the bulbs i have found will fit, and it appears it might be because they used a proprietary format bulb, with a strangely shaped 3 pin plug, it does not seem to be a polaris format plug, when i looked up headlights for the polaris, they appeared to have a different plug on them. Someone told me that H13s may fit the light enclosure, but that i would probably have to replace the pigtails to wire them in, so i got a H13 bulb to see if it will go into the bobcat housing, if so i will just splice on H13 pigtails and also retain the original pigtail as well, that way if it ever needs reverted, its not ruined.
