With all of the LED manufactures selling light bars from 8" to 40+" I am looking for some input as to how big of a LED light bar that I need. I will be using it for Residential snow plowing and not really trail riding at night. Wondering if anyone has any ideas if I can get away with a 12" flood LED or Larger? Thanks for you input.

I have the 12" light bar from Polaris...puts out plenty of light for me...both in the snow and trail riding....but bigger is always better....
I have a 20 inch euro beam mounted under my roof. I couldn't decide if I wanted a 12 or 20 inch. I got the 20 inch because bigger is better and it was still in my budget. How far do you want to see in front of you? And how bright do you want it? Check out the sponsors here that is where I got my set up

I don't have snow down here but I have a 20 inch from exploration outtfitters and 30 yard is nothing for this thing. It is bright, I can easily see a few hundred yards. It seems to be the only light I turn on now. I also have HIDs but can't even tell if there own once the LED is on.
I just recently put on a pair of 24w cube LED's from Exploration Outfitters and they are bright!!
In my mind, you get more lumen power for your dollar if you don't go with a bar type bulb but that's just me. Then again I haven't see how bright a light bar is:

This is stock light on bright on a 13 xp900.
This is with the 20 in lightbar.
The poles are about 50 yards apart and in person you can see about 4 more down the road than what shows up in the picture.
If yo plow with the 20 inch you will need sunglasses.
I think a 12 inch flood pattern would be plenty.

It is like rich, thin, and money! You can't have enough...... 40" here and very happy, but can always use and have more!!!
