Have not seen many fluid marketed as replacements for Polaris (besides AMSOIL) but these are similar products..

75W-90 gear lube for AGL
Mobil 424 or Mobil fluid LT or equivalent* for Demand Drive.
Many have used Dexron ATF as well...for Demand Drive

*JD20D, JD20C hydraulic fluid
JD - John Deere

 

75W-90 gear oil and AGL are not the same. Viscosity is not even close.

However, it is close to Polaris ADF.

 

I believe it's J20C for the trans and J20D for the front diff.

 

J20C transmission oil is a high viscosity meant for mild temperatures.
J20D transmission oil is a low-viscosity fluid. It is considered a winter grade lubrication fluid.

 

For as often as I change my front diff and tranny I just buy the polaris fluids. I know its right and saving $10. can cost you $500. in repairs if the fluid is wrong. For engine oil I use mobil 1 , 5/50 and a wix XP filter.

 

For some reason I've got like 3qts of polaris front diff, that'll last a while on a yearly service, Tranny I use J20C, motor Rotella T6 and wix filter.

 

Wix is the only filter that I use on my 800

 

I use OEM 11000 miles .

 

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE 75/90 GEAR LUBE IN PLACE OF AGL ...w%!f ......

I have been using DEMAND DRIVE and AGL and anything rated good that is 75 + in the divorced rear end since 2006.
In a UNI , you should be using AGL.....

 

With no intention of stating another oil discussion or debate, Amsoil's web site has a tool to find the correct fluids of their brand for most vehicles. You might try there for alternatives to OEM fluids.

 

Being thrifty by nature; I considered aftermarket oils when we bought our rig used. I wanted to change all the fluids for a clean starting point to reference. By the time you upgrade everything to synthetic; the price difference was minimal enough for this Ol Scot' to spring for OEM fluids and the peace of mind knowing they are correct. May not be for everyone, but I sleep well. Unless you spring a leak, you won't use much afterward.
OP: Use caution removing drain plugs first time; the hex drive can be soft, and they've been cursed at by more than a few!
