You would be alright with going with one size larger tire without any lift. The inner fender wells on the newer body styles isn't as large tire friendly as the previous models. The Maxxis Bighorns seem to run about an inch taller than stated but you should be fine with a 26" Bighorn even though it'll be closer to a 27" tire, any other 26" tire would work as well. I'm sure others will chime in soon and help ya out.

Also stay with a 12" wheel?
And I've noticed on ATVOutfitters, that some on the 25 and 26" tires come in set like 26-9-13 and 26-11-12.
So I would be okay with the different widths?

I could not find any wets with the same measurements and my originals.

Thanks alot for the input!!

The wheel size is more of a personal prefference however the 12" wheels do provide for a little more tire sidewall which protects the wheels a little better, alot depends on the terrain you ride in. You hit the nail on the head with atvoutfitters I was going to suggest that you contact Matt he's sponsor here, great customer service and great prices.

The tire combos like you've mention are very nice. The width is pretty much a standard aftermarket tire width. Some larger diameter tires come in 10" wide fronts and 12" wide rears. I think you'll be very pleased with the 26x9's in the front and the 26x11's in the rear.

Chiefs right with the 9's and 11's. Remember you will loose power the bigger the tire, especially the rear of course. I opted for 27x10x12's all the way around. I also bought a set of 6-inch wide front Polaris black alloys for the rear so I can rotate the tires now and make tham last much longer.

28's will go right on. Turn the front springs up and ride.
Some tires that say 28" are less than 28". Tires that are truly 28" tall like the 27" Bighorns will rub on the floorboards of the 09-10 XPs when you turn the tires all the way unless you install forward a arms, the highlifter floorboard cutout kit, or heat up and reshape the floorboards.

To add more to this tire confusion I had a friends 2010 HD in my shop. He has the stock alloy rims on it with 27" Bighorns and I installed my 2" ProLift kit on it. It is working fine with no rubbing in the front and no CV problems in the rear. He has been running it this way for 2 months now so if any problems were going to show up I think they would have by now.

I wonder if Polaris redesigned the floorboard? Or moved the a arms forward a bit? I put spacers on my 09 and it still rubbed when I had just a 2" lift. What air pressure is he running?

I just installed 26" Bighorns on my 2010 Crew (from ATV Outfitters, BTW). At full lock on the steering wheel, the front tires clear by only about an inch (maybe a hair more?). That's with no weight on the unit, OEM wheels (no spacers), and 1.75" EMP lift. Based on this, I'm thinking that 27" bighorns would likely rub when riding undulated terrain and making sharp turns. Bear in mind that not all of us ride the same. For running around the neighborhood or farm, or even trail riding on relatively flat trails, larger tires probably work fine without any rubbing issues. But if you're often taking it to the limit on rough, off-camber, challenging terrain? Well, you get the picture

I know some folks don't mind a little rubbing here and there. Personally, I don't like it and think the 26" Bighorns (which are something like 27.5" tall?) look good.

Bill,
Do you think that certain wheel offsets contribute to a certain size tire rubbing on one machine but not another?
I think the offset is a big factor, we ran into this on Curts 09. It seems you do not want to go wider and I really think stock backspacing is the way to go.

Seems like tire pressure was 14-16psi.

Curt, nothing stuck out as far as redesign. I am pretty sure nothing has changed on the front.
