I could use a little help here guys. I've read several threads about check engine/EFI trouble codes. My check engine light goes on and off. I pull codes and they all seem to basically come to the same thing....Idle Air Control Valve.
520269 3 idle air control valve m17; iac stepper pin 4 > driver circuit short to B+
520269 5 idle air control valve m17; iac stepper pin 4 > driver circuit open/grounded
520270 3 idle air control valve m17; iac stepper pin 6 > driver circuit short to B+
520267 5 idle air control valve m17; iac stepper pin 1 > driver circuit open/grounded
I think you get the idea. i have several codes and they all seem to come to this.
My question is this something i can fix myself? I took my unit to the shop and after 2 days of being there, the guy told me he couldnt find the problem. He would clear the codes and they would come back. one code led to another kind of thing. I needed the unit back to go on a trip and he told me it would be fine and to bring it back after my trip. I'm not sure if i feel comfortable driving it for 2 days in the mountains/trails with the check engine going on and off.
Is this a harness or bare wire or what? Any help/advice you guys can help me with would be much appreciated.
