I have a 2011 Ranger XP 800 with high idle problems. Gets up to 2300 rpm at idle. My bother thought it would be a good idea to adjust the idle adjustment screw on the throttle body (yes the one that the service manual says NOT to adjust). So here are the questions? 1 - can I reset the screw or do I need to buy a new throttle body assembly? If so, where do I buy?
2 - after I correct my bothers screw up, any ideas on what could be causing the problem? Been to my local dealer 3 times with no results. Last time they cleaned out the throttle body, told me they rode it 4 miles and it idled at 1300 rpm with no problems...charged me $299. Got it home, rode 11 miles into the middle of no where...problem started again. On the ride home it would not go over 20mph without dying out. I am very frustrated and polaris nor my dealer is willing to help. I have already spent hundreds of dollars on a machine that only has 700 miles on it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
