once again, it is brought up. my winch isn't working. the selenoid is clicking, but nothing from the winch.
First thing I would do is put a set of jumper cables on the winch motor leads to see if the motor is turning, then swithc leads to see if it turned othe direction, if so you need a new solenoid.20muddyranger11 said:once again, it is brought up. my winch isn't working. the selenoid is clicking, but nothing from the winch.
maybe that was the it. i need a bigger hammer. i will try the jumper cables and see what happens. have messed with it muchh, been haveing truck problems. have to get it fixed first.seasonedsole said:Maybe wrong size hammer? Good luck,
Try a F*RD Wrench (8lb sledge) I have recently learned from evperience the a JE*P wrench is even larger :lol:20muddyranger11 said:maybe that was the it. i need a bigger hammer.seasonedsole said:Maybe wrong size hammer? Good luck,
Not to the solenoid unless you hooked the to the wire going to the winch, not the ones going from battery to solenoid.20muddyranger11 said:tried the jumper cables. hooked them to the selenoid. (on power side< red and back) and tried. would do anyting but spark. i don't think that moving the plug did anything. the selenoid click from both switches. i think its probably from water and not being used all winter. maybe i need to used the ford hammer on the winch itself
